Need help
10/28/15 at 06:54:17

Hello all. As many of you know from my previous posts, I haven't been doing well for the past year. In an effort to feel better, I've been taking less antihistamines for the past couple weeks.
I have been in a state of severe anxiety and panic which has become unbearable the past 4 days.
I was up all last night with racing thoughts.
This morning I woke up and the angioedema which I haven't had in some time has acted up. My right eye and lip were swollen. I went ahead and took 10 mg Zyrtec, 60 mg Allegra, 150 Zantac and 5 ml Benadryl. I feel like I'm losing my mind. I'm so afraid.
I have an appointment with dr. Afrin, but it is not into June. Can anyone give me any suggestions of a doctor that may be able to see me sooner?
I'm desperate.
Thank you for reading.

Hi Britt,

So sorry, I just saw your post.  Usually, when you feel worse, more meds, not fewer are needed.  The anxiety and exacerbation of other symptoms are probably all from increased mast cell activity and decreased medications.  With the eye and lip swelling, I hope you saw a doctor.  You might need steroids to reverse your symptoms and to get stable again.

Regarding a doctor, if you don't have a mast cell specialist you can see, you could try a good allergist at a major medical center.   That doctor, or another trusted doctor, can call Dr. Afrin's office and ask how to best treat you.  I hope this episode is over and you got help.
