Two brothers who suffer from serious food allergies created the device Auvi-Q, which they claim is more user-friendly than the EpiPen.  Here it's covered in the New York Times:

Has anyone gotten and/or used an Auvi-Q?  The size sounds so much more manageable.  I saw a demo online (sorry, I don't have the link), and the voice instructions are really good.

These are the ingredients, and the only difference is the Auvi-Q contains sodium metabisulfite instead of bisulfite:

Active ingredient: epinephrine.
Inactive Ingredients: sodium chloride, sodium bisulfite, hydrochloric acid, and water.
