I recently noticed this strange sensation in my both ears.  I think the term used is burning ear.  Also I have tinnitus a lot.

The burning ear started since I've been taking all the antihistimines.
Is that a side effect?

I read stuff about peripheral nerve damage, diabetes and stroke... nothing minor.

Any ideas?

I get the burning when I'm reacting

tinnitus was one of my first symptoms which might be due to my MCAS

tinnitus can also be a drug reaction so you might want to talk to your doc in case stopping a certain med would help

p.s. tinnitus can also be caused by a billion other things like you said so best to get checked out

The burning is really strange...  it's deep in my ears.
The past 2 days I've been reacting to food dyes.  
The Walgreen's Ranitidine max. strength 150 mg. has Yellow #6 but the reg. 75 mg. does not.  I've been taking them interchangeably and now realize I've been reacting to the one with the dye.  It's insanity that everyday it's something else.
I read since posting this earlier that GERD causes burning in the ear.

I have had tinnitus on and off for a long time, with no reason found. I wouldn't be surprised if it was one of my meds. WHo knows. Luckily, I just ignore it and don't even realize it's there when it is is present. The odd thing is that it will disappear for a while and then return.

Burning ears for me is the sign of my symptoms triggering....
