You don't realize, but you are soooo close to 2 of the best Masto specialists in the country, probably the world. Not joking. You need to go see Dr. Cem Akin in Boston at Brigham and Women's Hospital (Harvard). He and Dr. Castells have opened the only mast cell disease center where they focus entirely on patients with mast cell disease. Dr Akin focuses on Masto and Dr Castells is more MCAS. You would love Dr Akin, as he is very caring and compassionate and knows precisely what meds you should try so that you can turn your life around. Basically, you just need to contact his office (I'll find the number for you, or it may be on our doctor page here on the forum). Just call and tell them that you were diagnosed with SM at age 3 and have never had any doctor who could help you. Tell them you are on barely any medication and having daily problems and would like an appointment with Dr Akin so that you can finally get some real help. You won't have any problem getting an appointment. You will have to travel to Boston (I love Boston!), but it is the difference between staying as you are now or having him help you so that you improve in ways you never imagined could happen.
