Dye Free Chlor Trimeton ?
11/15/13 at 10:00:27

Listmates,

I saw it mentioned here that Chlor Trimeton could be used in place of Bendadryl.   But when I looked for it today, all the different types had a yellow dye in them (yellow dye #10, I believe it was).   I'm pretty sure this yellow dye would be no good for me.

So, I was wondering what to do ?   Does anyone here use Chlor Trimeton ?    If so, are you getting it dye free ?

Thanks in advance,
Todd in Tenn.

According to a compounding pharmacy (in the U.S.) that I use frequently to compound my doxepin, 'Yes, Chlortrimeton (Chlorpheniramine Maleate) can be compounded'

These medications can also be compounded:

Chlortrimeton
Zyrtec
Claritin
Benadryl
Atarax
Zantac

And these cannot be:

Singulair
Clarinex
Xyzal

Pure Aricell cellulose was recommended as an excipient (per Clark's Pharmacy)

Just FYI,
