Numbness, hard to wake?
08/28/12 at 01:22:01

If I lie on my back in the bed and fall asleep, I wake with numb, 'sleepy' hands and I find it difficult to stay awake.  My eyes will be SO heavy and I just struggle to keep myself from dozing back off.  I do have dysautonomia/POTS/MVP and I am not sure which one this would be related to.  Thank you for reading this...

My first symptoms were numbness and tingling in my extremities while awake

That being said waking up with numbness would most commonly be due to sleep positioning. Was it only certain fingers or part of your hand like the 4th and 5 th and outside of your arm or the thumb through third? Id first try sleeping in a new position.

Being exposed to triggers does give me tingling. I also have POTS and hypermobility so often sleep or sit in positions that are hyperextending my joints and putting pressure on my nerves making them fall asleep. I'm trying to break these bad habits

Let us know if you sort out what's causing it for you

I really struggle with getting up in the AM. I try to get a lot of sleep, drink lots of fluids and take my time getting up.
