I just spoke with a patient who came back from a consultation with this doctor totally ELATED!   Although this doctor is not a masto specialist, he is an allergist/immunologist and has some understanding of mast cell disorders.   He has consulted with Dr. Castells in the past and is aware of her work.  

What excited this patient was that when he went in to consult with the doctor for the first time, he went armed with information on MCAS.   The doctor was eager to receive this information and gladly accepted it realizing it would save him time seeking this information for himself.   He showed a very open and willing attitude to the patient and this gave this patient a lot of HOPE for finally having found a doctor who may be able to take his case further.   This doctor asked for masto tests without the patient having to say what they were, proving that he did have a knowledge of masto.  

So, although this may not be a masto specialist, this doctor shows all of the positive qualifications of being the perfect local doctor for anyone wh ois needing a starting point for a diagnosis.
