My GP today was surprised that Zantac works on my daughter's lower abdominal pain (IBS like). He suggested doing a trial of a product called Iberogast (http://www.iberogast.ca/).

One thing I noticed when looking into this product is that they say it stimulates stomach mast cells to produce mucous to protect the stomach. But that it lowers inflammatory reactions in the bowel.

Has anyone heard about using this in someone with undiagnosed mast cell disorders?

Not sure I want to try something that could be a mast cell stimulant when I thing my daughter might have mast cell activation issues!!
