Has anyone had a reaction to having their eyes dilated during an optical exam?  Thanks.

I just had this done last month and I don't believe I had any significant reaction. I say "don't believe" because the next day I did feel a bit worse but that could have been ANYTHING, really.  I certainly didn't have any immediate reaction at all!

Yes, in fact it was at the neuro opthamologist that I was tentatively diagnosed and dilating my eyes caused a reaction and I passed out later from it.  I didn't know whether it was from the light or the chemical they used to dilate my eyes.  My eyes have been a significant symptom with this.

Thanks.  I always ask them not to use anything with epinephrine in it because epi causes heart palps.  The last few times I had my eyes dilated I became nauseous shortly after they put drops in my eyes.  I thought maybe it was because I  have migraines.  I usually do have a headache after the exam.
