Hello everyone?  Has anyone successfully taken Azithromycin (Zithromax)?  I was on a trip over New Year's, came back and tested positive for Strep throat.   Since I've reacted to Keflex before, they prescribed Azithromycin.  Its powerful and looks like it has red dyes in it.  I'd be surprised if I don't react to it, so I'm working myself up over the thought of putting the pill in my system.  Ironically, I took zinc last night and the throat feels better today, without antibiotics.

Any input is much appreciated!

Thanks, Heather.  I took the z-pack years ago for pneumonia & it worked well.  That was before all the mast cell issues, of course).  If it didn't work for you that must've been some infection you had!

I heard from Dr. Lee of Dr. Castells' office, who said that Azithromycin is usually well tolerated by the mast cell patients.  She asked me to report back how I do.
