For my 4 yr old son she's requesting a tryptase level and Total IgE. For me a tryptase level and 24 hour urine histamine. She said "according to the new diagnostic criteria" one of those should be elevated. We're also going to trial compounded Claritan with my son (he reacts to zyrtec) and work up to a dose of twice daily to see if it helps with his pain. In the past, Benadryl has helped with his pain flares so we're hoping a daily antihistamine would do the same thing. She said that responding to meds would be another "diagnostic criteria". His signs and symptoms would be the third "diagnostic criteria."

After re reading the criteria it also seems that an elevated prostaglandin D 2 would be an indicator. Curious why she didn't request that urine sample as well? Maybe my allergist will throw it on.

It's a start. Any thoughts?
