I am starting a 4-States Mast Cell Support Group. I live in SW Missouri so this will consist of SW Missouri, NW Arkansas, NE Oklahoma and SE Kansas.

I am in talks with various professionals who will give talks such as Nutirtionists, Allergists, Emergency Care Providers, Social Security Attorneys and still working up a list of other professionals as well. I have also contacts with Independent Living specialists and case managers who are willing to talk to us and help us with patient advocacy issues.

I am also working on setting up a Mast Cell Patient Campout Weekend here at Roaring River State Park.

I would like to get some feedback from folks to see if these things are something y'all are interested in.

Hi Kate,

What a lovely idea! I am not in your area, but wanted to applaud you for it! I think that you may get some good response, except for the campout idea. I am probably one of the "healthiest" mast cell people you could meet, but the thought of the outdoors with all those triggers (or just not being in an "environment controlled" hotel, etc, near hospitals) make me cringe. I have a feeling that part may scare people off, so if you don't get the response you wanted, perhaps consider an alternative meeting/weekend.

Best of luck! I'm pulling for ya!
