Title: Magnesium aluminum silicate and other ingredients
Post by brigitte on 07/04/13 at 14:50:46

Hi! I'm still on a hunt for a face moisturizer. I bought one today, fragrance free (Moisturel therapudic cream). Would love to bounce some ingredients off y'all.
Carbomer
Cetyl alcohol
Diazolindinyl urea
Glycerin
Laureth-23
Magnesium aluminum silicate
Methychloroisothiazolinone and
Methylisothiazolinone
Propylene glycol
Dioctanoate
PVP/hexadence copolymer
Sodium hydroxide
Streareth-2
Water

Again, I know that everyone one of us is different, but wondering if any of these seem "bad", salicylate, benzoate, preservative type stuff. Or if anyone sees any of these ingredients as a red flag?
I'm just scared!!! I was sick for two weeks from a lanolin based moisturizer. (By the way, I emailed Dr. Afrin about lanolin, and he said that, although we're all different, lanolin seems to be a trigger in many mast cell disorder patients)
Thanks all! I'm terrible at googling and finding proper information, or information I can understand! :D
HAPPY 4 th of JULY!!!!!!! Woohoo!

Title: Bad ingredients!

So this is the second night I've used this moisturizer. Both nights I've gotten into bed, tired, but unable to sleep and have waves of like a sea sick feeling. So I got up tonight and started looking at the ingredients again. Turns out diazolindinyl urea is a FORMALDEHYDE releaser! Unbelievable! This chemically slowly releases formaldehyde from a product. Now I'm not sure what this means, but it doesn't sound good.
Wow. Unbelievable. I didn't know this was legal (I read that it is banned in Europe) It's important to investigate every ingredient. Look out for the word "urea". I know I have a problem with formaldehyde, although I've had symptoms since I was a teenager, it was when we laid new carpet throughout the house 4 years ago that my symptoms really took off.
Off to wash this #%^* off my face. Grrrrrr........  >:(
I tried pure shea butter, and I'm pretty sure it made me feel not so good, but I thinking of trying le cleurs, but it does have shea butter. Maybe if its not in a pure form I'll be able to handle it.
