I called National Jewish Medical Center in Denver to ask if Dr. Richard Weber, who I knew treated SM patients, also diagnoses and treats MCAS patients. His nurse called me back today, and HE DOES!!

This is very exciting to have an expert who can sort these things out in this part of the country! I haven't seen him yet, but plan to, and will report back after my appointment.

Please let me know how it goes! I have been struggling to find someone who believes MCAS even exists! I live in Denver as well and have basically been self treating. I have made a lot of progress, but it would be nice to have a Dr's help.

I don't know how soon I'll be seeing him, as I just saw the hematologist at Stanford in August. I'll probably make an appointment for late fall or winter. Also, I'll see him for SM.

The Support Group leader for Colorado is Dr. Weber's patient and had only nice things to say.

My local doc here in Longmont sent me to Dr. Stephen Dreskin at Univerity Hospital in Denver for my official diagnosis. He is also somehow associated with National Jewish. I think I was lucky to stumble on an allergist/immunologist on the first try who recognized what I had. He told me that it can take a while to get in to see Dr. Dreskin, but he personally made the call and I had an appointment within 2 weeks.
