Title: Interesting symptom...
Post by PamH on 08/27/12 at 08:03:15

I was wondering if anyone else ever gets really sore mouths?  I feel like I'm cutting teeth today!   :D
This happened last year when I would eat tomatoes.  Then my symptoms got really severe. (anaphilaxis)  I haven't had this particular symptom in awhile.  I think that the cromolyn in really helping my symptoms change into less life threatening ones!!  Still annoying but I'm happy to see the positive changes even if it means a sore mouth!!

I did have a tomatoe yesterday...still deciding if it was worth it! ;)

It sounds to me as though the MCs in your mouth are indeed reacting to the tomatoe, which is a known food which causes reactions.   I turn as red as a tomatoe when I eat spagetti with a tomato sauce!   I only eat it when I'm stable.

Oh well!

So, my recommendation.....it's not worth it!   sorry!

I, sadly, and now getting this when I eat  dark chocolate or caffeine. My gums get sore first, then my lips start to swell up a little.

Bye-bye chocolate!

oh wow. Another common symptom ..

The inside of my mouth has been swelling for a few years now. I've been biting it by mistake of course.  I had to have the hole cauterized once because it wouldn't heal.  :-[        That really hurt.

It's been much better since going on these meds. Duh ! Tc .. M

My tongue ached when I tried cooked organic pumpkin. It's on the high histamine list too. I take it as a warning of worsening reactions with future exposure.

Anaphylaxing,
My worst reaction was with pumpkin pie!  This was before I had a clue what was going on.  I can see now pumpkin pie is not a good choice for someone that is salicylate sensitive and avoiding histamines.  After that reaction I will probably never have pumpkin anything!  :)
