Hi Emily so glad you posted here and I hope people chime in. I  live in Canada, but I THINK you're close to Boston. Oh my gosh if you can go to Brigham and Women's hospital and be seen at the centre of excellence there it would be the best possible case scenario. They are world experts. I really hope you can.

Depending on who and where it can be allergists/immunologists or hematologists. For me I saw some of those with no luck and needed a supportive family doc who was willing to look into things.

If you can travel, I'd get a referral to Boston if you can, or call the office there and find out what to do.  8-)

That is something that I know nothing about unfortunately! I'm sure someone else on here will. I recall a post recently on the mastocytosis society page looking for a doctor in the NY area which might be another place to check, but I'm sure people will have more ideas here.

If there's any way you can go to Boston, I would.

Emily, to comment on insurance you will need to contact your insurance company and explain you may have a rare disorder that requires a particular specialists to run the necessary testing and would they cover such a thing. If yes then you choose which specialist (Boston is closer to you and highly recommended by many on here) then call that office to inquire about them accepting your insurance. If it all lines up MAKE AN APPOINTMENT because it may take a few months to be seen and I know you are ready for some answers. Let us know how it works out or if you need more help.

They should be able to work you up without a diagnosis if you have your doctor refer you or call and ensure you have whatever testing they require prior to going.
