Title: Cards to hand out Post by Starflower on 06/07/11 at 22:21:50 I can't remember what thread we started this discussion on ;D Anyway... A few weeks ago I had to wait for my husband while he was having an endoscopy (long story... irrelevant to this topic). The waiting room had recently been renovated and the adhesives/paint/cleaners whatever started getting to me... dizziness, heartburn, a few hives... so I took some liquid Benadryl. I also should have left the room, but I wasn't thinking very clearly! Susan suggested that I should make some cards to hand out in this kind of situation... so I finally did! Here's what I decided on for the text: ----------- Sorry to leave! Something here is bothering me... I have a disorder that causes severe allergic reactions. My name My cell phone: (xxx)xxx-xxxx (I have EpiPens in my bag if needed) On the back it says, Thank You for your concern and assistance ---------------- Good idea, right? I'm pretty happy with it! I had to order some new business cards, so I just ordered these at the same time... you can get them pretty cheap online at Vista Prints. the design I chose is "free" (I paid for text on the back plus S&H) and it shows a drop of water falling into a pool of water... like an overflowing barrel ;) Heather |

Title: Re: Cards to hand out Post by Susan on 06/10/11 at 19:00:39 I love how you did your cards, Heather! Very smart to put the info about your Epi pen in there. I didn't have one when I made mine. I may have to change them soon. Boy, the very situations that are most problematic are the same ones that make us unable to think clearly. Sometimes, even when I know better, I still stay longer than I should. I hope you didn't have any lasting repercussions from the exposure. I hope it was a routine endoscopy for your husband. Sounds like maybe not? |
