I'm in Australia in the state of Victoria and am searching for a mast cell specialist.
Could anyone point me in the right direction?

I've recently been to an allergist, but he said he doesn't know much about MCAD and Masto... which kind of really floored me as mast cells are the main allergic response in the body..... ?

Thanks!

Hi, I'm also from Melbourne, Victoria.
I am  very happy with the caring and well informed crew at the Alfred Hospital.  Prof Robyn O'Hehir is head of the immunology dept. and she is responsible for diagnosing my Systemic Masto about 2 years ago. My haemotologist is Dr Andrew Wei who is now specializing in Mastocytosis. He attends international Masto conferences and is a wonderful doctor.
Both are approachable, extremely interested and in touch with the complexities of this "special" disease and they work together, actually discuss appropriate treatments etc.!.
I am a very lucky person to be under their care, as I've not had an emergency visit to hospital for over a year now, due to the treatment they have introduced. I have a once-a-month injection of Xolair, which has stabilized my mast cells to the point where my tryptase levels are down to 15-16!!! (I will post more about this in a more appropriate topic, as soon as I get the chance.)
Just wanted to let you Ozzies know, that there are some more wonderful people back home to help you.
